A friend just sent me a copy of The 2015 Pushcart Prize Best of the Small Presses and it’s really true, my story Palace of the Brine (originally published in The Malahat Review) received a Pushcart Prize special mention, and my name is right there on the same list as Joyce Carol Oates, Ann Beattie, Aimee Bender, and Laura van den Berg! If I wasn’t in the middle of chemotherapy I’d bust open a bottle of red to celebrate.
