The Toronto Star

I was so happy to wake up to this fabulous review in The Toronto Star this morning, my first for the collection, and I’m in good company too.

Inheritance, Kerry-Lee Powell (Biblioasis, 80 pages, $18.95). This remarkable debut collection isn’t light reading: the dark pulse driving it is family history as trauma and the devastating legacy of war. But its tight rhythms, startling images and vivid, arresting turns of phrase make it utterly compelling.
